Admissions

We welcome new pupils and their families to our school community.

Most of our school admissions take place in September when our new Nursery and Reception children start. Please see below for details of how to apply for our Nursery and Reception places.

In-year admissions take place outside the normal admission period – for example, children who have recently moved to the area and do not have a school place.

We admit children into other year groups if we have a place available. All admissions are allocated by Tower Hamlets; the school does not admit pupils directly. If you need a school place for your child please contact Tower Hamlets Pupil Services on 020 7364 5006 or use the link below.

If your child is offered an in-year placement at Cubitt Town Primary School, you will be asked to attend an interview, where we will discuss with you the best way for your child to settle. You will also need to read and sign the school's home school agreement.

Admission to Nursery and Reception

School Admissions to Nursery and Reception is managed centrally by the Local Authority. The School follows the local authority's admissions policy.

A child will normally start our Nursery in September of the school year in which they turn four. Children join our Reception classes during the academic year in which they reach their fifth birthday. You should note that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the main school, and parents must apply for Reception places separately.

Please follow the links below to access the Tower Hamlets admissions for Nursery and Reception. If you are offered a place in one of our classes we will contact you to arrange a home visit so our early years team can meet you and your child, and find out more about your child so we can settle them quickly and ensure they have a familiar face when they start with us. We also hold a welcome meeting for new Nursery and Reception parents in June each year, and a Stay & Play session for new children so they can meet their teacher and explore their classroom and outdoor learning space before they start.
