Year 4's Adventure in Epping Forest

As part of their geography topic on Sustainable Cities, the year 4 children were asked to compare the differences between rural and urban living.  A field trip was clearly required in order to do this thoroughly so we headed to Epping Forest for the day!  For many of the children this was their first experience of the countryside and their faces clearly reflected their excitement of seeing just endless greenery!  The children explored the ancient woodlands, found a vast array of minibeasts and were amazed to discover wild edible berries growing in the hedgerows.  And of course, you cannot possibly go to a forest without climbing a few trees along the way!  What a wonderful day we had!
